Whom Is Dani California?

If you read my other blog on myspace, you'll already know some of what im going to say. The new track released by the red hot chili peppers is called "Dani California" i recently realized that i knew that name from somewhere, but where? I realized i'd heard it before in some chili peppers songs. I know its on californication but have yet to remember which song. But i did check out their recent (before this album) album by the way, has the name Dani spelled the same way, so it must be in refference to Dani California. In case you dont know, Dani california is a girl. But the point of my invesigation was to determain who is dani california, how did she die? and what relationship with the red hot chili peppers did she have?

in the song "Dosed" he talks about a women dieing, could that be dani california? and if so why did he not come out with "Dani california" closer to her death?

In the music video to "Dani California" they pay homage to rock over the years, changing clothes with every verse. Beatles, twisted sister, ect. ending with themselves... So is this who dani california is? All the rockers from cali? some people reffer to places or cars as women..

Dani Cali could that be a refference to drugs? the craving for herion is finally gone from my system? Does it have something to do with Hillel slovak (sorry for the miss-spelling the other day!)? If i may quote "The day my best friend died, i could not get my copper clean" as to what his "Copper" is, i dont know. A lot of the chili's songs have to do with their bandmate, friend, family memeber's death. Really if i was to explain everything about this section in their life, it would take forever so instead i found an awesome link that explains it very well. http://www.slovakopedia.com/h/hillel-slovak.htm Dont worry its not a page just on Hillel despite what the addy is, its on the founding fathers of the band, and how they accidently became rock legends... How is it everyone becomes rock legends and never means to? But people with real talent and a sore spot for music, cant get anywhere? i've heard some awesome local bands, chicago's got to have some of the best, springfields are okay though.. Point being, music is music, whether everyone knows about it, or its your secret!

So at the end of the day, tired of searching, we still have no idea, who dani california really is. A love interest of anthony's? Someone the band Jamed with? A producer that worked with them? A family friend, or something to that effect. All we know is its something or someone whom really effected the chili pepppers, so at the end of the day, that's the only answer we've got. -Jessica
